BetaBite ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Dilinx Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the BetaBite mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
• Pantry & Inventory Data: Food items, quantities, and expiry dates you add to your inventory.
• Photos: Receipt photos and fridge photos you capture for scanning. These are processed by AI and are not stored permanently on our servers after processing.
• Contacts: If you grant permission, we access your contacts to help you invite friends to Potluck. We do not store your contacts on our servers.
• Usage Data: App interaction data to improve the user experience.
• Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens to send you expiry reminders and potluck notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the BetaBite service, including inventory tracking, recipe suggestions, and potluck features.
• To process receipt and fridge photos using AI (Azure OpenAI) for item extraction.
• To generate personalized recipe suggestions based on your inventory.
• To send push notifications about expiring items and potluck invitations.
• To enable social features such as adding friends and collaborative cooking.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (cloud-hosted PostgreSQL). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth with secure token management.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage.
• Azure OpenAI: AI-powered receipt scanning and recipe generation.
• Expo: Push notification delivery.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your pantry data may be shared with friends you add through the Potluck feature, as part of the collaborative cooking functionality. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

6. Your Rights

You may:

• Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings.
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
• Revoke camera, contacts, or notification permissions through your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

BetaBite is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
